Mitchell Wesley Greenway, 50, of Corsicana, who was charged with possession or promotion of child pornography for looking at child porn on the computers in the Corsicana Public Library, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday to ten decade-long sentences in prison by District Judge James Lagomarsino.
Although technically sentenced to 100 years, Greenway will serve the sentences concurrently, or all at the same time. Greenway will have to seek sex offender treatment while in prison.
Because of his age, the district attorney’s office asked that Greenway be required to serve the 10 separate sentences consecutively.
“We recommended it be stacked, but the judge hears the facts. It was his decision to make,” said Lowell Thompson, district attorney.
Greenway was arrested on Oct. 31, 2011, and charged with 10 separate crimes for looking at 10 on-line photos. In addition to the 10 years in prison, Greenway will have to pay a $1,000 fine and court costs for each count. He could be eligible for parole in five years.
