Blooming Grove teen killed in Sunday crash
A Blooming Grove High School senior was killed in a one car accident Sunday morning on FM 744 south of Dresden.
Charles Cameron Clemens, 17, was killed when his 2000 Ford Focus struck a fence and tree at 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The report said Clemens was driving east on FM 744 at a high rate of speed, when his car left the roadway onto the south shoulder, over corrected to the left and then back to the right. The car then went into a side skid into the south median, striking a fence and tree with the driver’s side of the vehicle. Clemens was wearing a seat belt, the report said.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Chris Williamson, assisted by DPS Sgt. Kenneth Authier, the Blooming Grove Volunteer Fire Department and the Navarro County Sheriff’s office.
