Park Christmas lights will shine after all

Corsicana's Community Park will be illuminated with festive Christmas lights this year.

And, the downtown Christmas parade will be a nighttime event as in years past.

That's the word Thursday after discussions between the City of Corsicana and organizers of the Festival of Lights.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that the parade would be taken over by the city and held during the daytime, and that Community Park would not be decorated for the holiday season.

After discussions held this week between the city and the organizers, the decision to go on with both events was reached. The Festival of Lights committee will be in charge of both events.

Read more about the parade and park lights in the Friday print edition of the Daily Sun, and this Sunday, a special feature story on the history of Corsicana's Christmas parade.
