King found guilty of indecency
A Navarro County jury Friday found a Goodlow man guilty of 10 counts of indecency with a child.
The trial of Johnny King, 44, began Tuesday in 13th District Court. He was accused of indecency with a child — the 8th grade daughter of his girlfriend.
King, testifying in his own behalf Thursday, denied the accusations, saying his girlfriend made up the charges because she was mad at him.
The punishment phase of the trial is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday. King could face a sentence of 25 years to life on each of the 10 counts he was convicted on Friday.
Navarro County District Attorney R. Lowell Thompson praised the work of prosecutors Vicki Foster and Amy Cadwell in the case.
“They worked hard and did a good job with it,” Thompson said.
