From Staff Reports
The Corsicana Christmas Parade and Lighting ceremony, complete with fireworks, went smoothly with plenty of participation Saturday, according to Dennis Thornberg with the Festival of Lights.
“We had 115 floats,” he said. “It all went off without a hitch.”
Although the season had a rocky start, with Thornberg saying his organization didn’t want to do the park lights anymore, then taking it back, some new blood was pumped into the effort to help. The group will continue to stay in charge of both activities next year, he added.
The lights and decorations in Community Park will remain up until Dec. 31, Thornberg said.
Winners of the Christmas Parade entries were:

Non-Profit: Boy Scouts of America, Retreat
Spirit of the Season: Candy Cane Corner
Community: Home Depot
