The place to wrap up any last-minute Christmas shopping will be at College Park Mall this Saturday when Day in December will host a record number of vendors. The event will start at 9 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m.
“Vendors are coming from across Navarro County and Corsicana, as well as from the Dallas metro area, Longview and Canton,” said Deanna Hayes, mall manager. “This week, I’ve probably had 15 to 20 calls asking if I could find a spot for them.”
Hayes said she doesn’t want to turn anyone away, because she wants this to be a terrific show for Corsicana and the surrounding area.
“We have several new vendors coming Saturday, as well as many returning vendors from previous shows,” she said. “They are bringing everything from handcrafted Christmas decorative items, to hairbows, great baby gift items, quilts, candles, Homemade Gourmet and Bath and Body Works items, and jewelry, bling purses, T-shirts, flip-flops, boots and much more.”
Artisan Tim Barlow of Going Haywire will be on hand creating new pieces during the show. His one-of-a-kind art uses a single piece of bailing wire, which he fashions into guardian angels. Along with displaying his craft, Barlow will share stories of some of the angels he has created, and how they have been guardian angels for the recipients.
“I hope people will brave the chilly weather and come out to shop with all these terrific vendors,” Hayes said. “I know everyone will be able to finish their shopping, or if they are like me, start their Christmas shopping at the show or in the mall! Santa is here, and will be through Christmas Eve.”
