Tickets on sale now for Elegance 2010

From Staff Reports

Individual tickets are on sale now for Elegance 2010 at The Cook Center located on the Navarro College campus. The event will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at the center.

This year’s theme will be “Le Jardin de la Connaissance,” which translates to “The Garden of Knowledge.” Individual tickets can be purchased for $175 each and table sponsorships are still available. Tables can be purchased at the bronze level for $3,500; gold level $5,000; platinum level, $10,000; and diamond level, $15,000. Each table seats eight guests.

The annual event raises thousands of dollars for scholarships for Navarro College students through table and individual ticket sales, auctions, raffles, and other fun events that take place during the evening. Last year, Elegance netted approximately $130,000 that went directly to support scholarships for NC students.

“‘Le Jardin de la Connaissance’ represents a garden/floral-inspired theme. We will be incorporating garden gates, water features, statuary, and arches into the design,” said Donna Parish, director of marketing and public information at Navarro College and coordinator of Elegance 2010. “The décor this year will once again be fabulous, as will the gourmet meal, which will again be catered by the famous George’s of Dallas.

“We have some surprises planned this year, which includes reworking the silent auction. We’re always looking for new and fun ways to raise funds for our students while ensuring that our guests are experiencing a world-class event,” Parish said.

When guests arrive, they may partake in cocktails while browsing items up for auction in a large event tent located beside The Cook Center. Opportunities to purchase raffle tickets and chances on donated items will be offered also. At 7:15 p.m., guests will be escorted into the center’s dramatically decorated atrium for dinner. During the gourmet meal, guests may bid on the larger ticket items during the live auction, and there will be other opportunities to engage in fun and games.

“Everyone has a wonderful time, and at the evening’s conclusion, our guests have helped NC students by donating funds that will help cover tuition and fees, room and board, and even books. We are so very fortunate to have such wonderful people attend and support education,” Parish said.
