The Corsicana City Council will have a public hearing to let residents express their thoughts about the proposed city budget for 2013 when the group meets in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Government Center, 200 N. 12th Street.
The budget calls for raising the sewer rates and lowering the water rates, raising some other fees, but no tax rate increase. The city has also budgeted to spend money on streets, street equipment, and some equipment for the landfill and water treatment plant.
The council isn’t expected to vote on the budget until Sept. 18.
Also on the agenda is an item to allow the historical society to put an old gas station in Pioneer Village.
A workshop to discuss the gas station, as well as a real estate contract, will take place at 5 p.m. in the conference room prior to the regular meeting.
