The Palace Theater and Two Doors Down Coffee House are sponsoring “F5”, the first ever Red Cross movie, which will be shown at the Palace Theater in Corsicana, beginning at 5:30 p.m. “F5” features actual tornado footage shot by local storm chaser Tim Marshall, and focuses on the devastating results of a mass tornado outbreak across the area. Local Red Cross Disaster Volunteers will be on hand outside the theater to share information concerning the Red Cross Disaster Response, give tours of local response vehicles, and share disaster preparedness information. Corsicana Masonic Lodge is having a two-day garage sale at 201 North 15th Street. Proceeds will go to the charitable work of the lodge. Large and small appliances, clothing, toys, bedding, blankets, bric-a-brac and all kinds of merchandise will be for sale. When Are We Going Home Ministry and Mosaic invite families for Free Movie Day at The Palace Theater, 112 W. Sixth Ave., Corsicana. The Knights of Columbus, Council 5211 will host a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on South Highway 22 in Corsicana to benefit the Catholic school. At 6 p.m. a barbecue dinner will be served. Admission costs $50 per player and includes $3,000 in poker chips. Players can buy $3,000 more in chips for an additional $25 donation. Advance tickets cost $45, and may be purchased from any KC Council 5211 member. Prizes, including a 37-inch flat screen TV, will be awarded to the top three players. The Chatfield Tupelo Community Center will hold its annual ice cream social at 6 p.m. Take a break from the heat, and come on out to Chatfield! Everyone is welcome to enter home-made ice cream to be judged. There will be monetary prizes. The Navarro College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will sponsor a seminar on Funding Your Small Business from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Corsicana Chamber of Commerce, 120 N. 12th Street. Attendees will discover the variety of loans available and the process for getting funds guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Information will also be presented that covers what lenders want to see when making a business loan, the myths and realities of grant funding, and alternative lending sources to consider. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Sirloin Stockade, 2508 West Seventh Avenue, Corsicana.
