The Corsicana City Council will be asked to consider amending the city’s 2013 budget by $1.6 million when the group meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at city hall, 200 N. 12th Street.
Of that money, $800,000 is from the general fund, about half of which would go into street projects, $72,000 would go into renovations at the animal shelter, and more for a Web site redo, fixing up more offices for the police department and municipal court, and $100,000 for city employee bonuses. The city has been avoiding raises the last several years by giving the bonuses, and this year is no exception. All city employees are eligible for the mandated step plan raises, however.
The city has some extra money in the form of reimbursement from the flood at city hall, higher sales tax revenues, an increase in municipal court collections, and some higher property tax values.
Also on the agenda is to let out a bid for mowing, for participation in a home program system, applying for a grant, and granting easement to Oncor to provide Pactiv with new power lines.
