Corsicana —
Corsicana Main Street bids farewell to another pumpkin season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday with an artisan craft fair and classic car show. A dozen vendors offering hand-crafted items such as jewelry, metal art, steampunk design, cow skull art, home-canned goods, outdoor and home décor will set up on the east side of the Corsicana Visitors Center, while the Cars of Navarro County will hold a “Remember When” Car Show on the west side.
Pumpkin patch coordinator Jackie King said the event is another way to add value and extend pumpkin sales for a few days.
“We have some really amazing artists and craftsmen in the area, and we want to give them the opportunity to showcase their work without the clutter of mass produced items,” King said.
A classic/custom car show seemed another natural fit to the nostalgic feel the organizers of the Pumpkin Harvest Festival were seeking, King explained.
Car show registration continues until 1 p.m., with an awards presentation at 3 p.m., said Bob Reddish, show organizer. All proceeds from the car show benefit the Navarro County Food Bank.
“Whatever you have, bring it out and show it off,” Reddish said.
More information on the event may be found at www.corsicanamainstreet.org/pumpkin-patch.
