Northside Baptist Church, 2800 North Beaton St., is beginning a program called Grief Share, a non-denominational weekly support group for people grieving the death of someone close. The finality of death is hard to accept, and Grief Share is a place to be around people who understand the pain of loss. This support group will begin meeting 5 to 7 p.m., Sept. 12, in the Fellowship Center (small white house across from the parking lot) 222 Forest Lane, Corsicana. Meetings will consist of three components: Video seminar, Grief Share workbook, and group discussion. The Grief Share group is open to everyone. The only expense is the $10 workbook. Texas Slabs’ jerky has issued a voluntary recall notice, effective Friday, according to proprietor Scott McGinty.
The company makes flavored beef jerky and is headquartered out of Mansfield. Some of the jerky was distributed in Corsicana in January. -
