Bomb threat spurs evacuation at Russell Stover

Corsicana — A threat reportedly made by a former employee resulted in the evacuation of Corsicana's Russell Stover Candy factory Wednesday morning.

Employees were evacuated shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday, waiting in the parking lot as managers, maintenance workers and Corsicana Police searched the plant. No explosive was found in the search.

At about 8:50 a.m., employees were allowed to return to the building. A plant spokesman said any further comment would have to come from the corporate office in Kansas City.
