The Navarro College Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Cook Center at Navarro College.
It will be the final meeting of the board for the year.
On the Thursday agenda:
• Consent agenda, including minutes from the board’s Nov. 15 meeting.
• Update on the presidential search.
• Resolution for a tax abatement for Pactiv’s expansion.
• Annual financial audit for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2012.
• November financial statement and quarterly investment report.
• Approval for construction of an administration building in Mexia.
• Update on Opening Doors to Success program.
• Personnel report.
• President’s report by Dr. Richard Sanchez, college district president.

Shelter from the storm: Tornadoes spur interest in shelters
Anyone who lives in the midwest is all too familiar with the phrase “Tornado Alley.”
And, anyone who follows the news knows that phrase has taken on renewed meaning this spring with a series of violent tornadoes across the region. -
Business News: HEB supports tornado recovery efforts
H-E-B is donating $50,000 to the American Red Cross and will begin accepting customer donations for the victims of the recent tornadoes which devastated areas of North Texas. H-E-B is also providing aid in response to the devastation with gift cards and meals to churches, first responders and affected families.

Lifetime Memories: Special Prom supplies smiles, excitement for all
Bright smiles and nervous excitement are standard at every prom, but there were more than a few reasons Friday’s “Special Prom” at Corsicana High School was extra special.
For three hours, the area that usually serves as the Calico dance rehearsal studio was transformed into a black and red masquerade-themed wonderland for the school’s first prom for about 40 of its special education students. -
