    Bethel AME Church, 105 N. Fourth St., where the Rev. R.C. Emanuel is pastor, will celebrate the gospel choir’s 63rd anniversary at 3 p.m. April 11.



    Bethlehem Baptist Church, 409 N. Third St., where the Rev. Dairy G. Johnson Sr. is pastor, invites you to celebrate the pastor and wife’s 25th church anniversary. Services will be at 7 p.m. April 8-10 and at 3:30 p.m. April 11. Speakers will be the Rev. E. Betts of Goodlow, April 8; the Rev. P. Malone of Ennis, April 9; the Rev. J.     Corsicana Ministerial Alliance will meet at 1:30 p.m. April 7 at United Christian Fellowship, across from Navarro College. All ministers in the area are invited to attend.



    Faith Lutheran Church, 3824 W. State Highway 22, will have a Good Friday Tenebrae service at 7 p.m. April 2 as the crucifixion of Jesus and the great meaning it has for lives is remembered.

    Faith Lutheran Church will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter beginning with a sunrise worship service at 7:30 a.m. followed by an Easter breakfast. An Easter worship service will be at 10:30 a.m. and an Easter egg hunting will be held after the service. You are invited to come and celebrate this joyous time of faith with Faith Lutheran Church.



    First Baptist Church, 510 W. Collin St., will begin “Divorce Care” classes at 6 p.m. April 11 in the church parlor. Chuck McElroy will lead the group. “Divorce Care” helps you recover from the pain of separation and divorce. Come join in and find help, discover hope and experience healing.     Greater Love Outreach Fellowship Church, 720 E. Park Ave., where Elder William Lewis Jr. is pastor, will celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ through an Easter play at 6 p.m. April 2. Come and be blessed. The speaker will be Minister Leander Lee. And you are invited to come and join in an Easter morning “son rise” service at 4 a.m. April 4. This anointed service will be celebrating the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. Guest speaker will be Pastor Charles Washington of Haynes Memorial Church of God in Christ. The church will also continue “Corinthians Experience” at 7 p.m. April 7-30. There will be various speakers each night at these services.



    Harmony Baptist Church, 400 E. 12th Ave., will hold a Good Friday service at 8 p.m. April 2. The youth will present the pageant “Roads and the Tomb,” under the direction of Sister Annie Solomon and Sister LaTresa Hervey. All are invited to attend.

    At 11:30 a.m. April 4, resurrection praise will go forth led by praise team members Minister Chasity Perkins, Sister Dianna Tolliver, Sister Deanna Hernandez, Deacon David Shockley and Deacon Lawrence Williams. Minister Vanessa Baker will give the welcome and the youth department will give speeches and recitations. Bishop John Baker, pastor, will bring the resurrection message. Join in for an anointed worship and praise service.



    Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ will have an auxiliary program at 3 p.m. April 18, sponsored by the Sunday school and brotherhood departments. The importance of Sunday school will be by Evangelist Stephanie High of Haynes Memorial COGIC in Mexia, where Charles Washington is pastor. The importance of brotherhood will be by Minister Walter Kelly Dickson, associate minister of Johnson COGIC. Guest speaker will be Elder Curtis Johnson Sr. of Pathway Life Church in Mesquite, where Danny Wegman is pastor. Sunday school superintendent is Sister Rosie Williams. Brotherhood president is Deacon Leo Bryant. Pastor is Elder Joseph Johnson Sr. and Missionary Charlene Johnson is first lady. All churches and friends are invited.



    Kelly’s Temple Church of God in Christ will observe Easter services with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. April 4. You are invited to come and enjoy the Lord. Pastor Billy Joe Kelly will speak on “It was at the Cross.” The children will be in a recital program by Sister Eddie Wilson. After the service, there will be an Easter egg hunt on the front lawn of the church. All children are welcome to participate.



    Love Chapel Baptist Church, 400 N. Benton St., where the doors are always open and love is given, would like to extend to the public a special invitation to worship Resurrection Day April 4. David E. Wilson serves as pastor and Sharron D. Wilson serves as minister. Sunday school will begin at 9:45 a.m. and worship will be at 11 a.m. As Resurrection Day is celebrated, there will be recitations from the Love Chapel youth department and a skit will also be presented titled “And Jesus Said.” The spoken word will be brought by Pastor Wilson.     Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast will meet at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Lone Star Room of the Walker Dining Hall on the Navarro College campus. This meeting is open to all men in the community.     Second Avenue Missionary Baptist Church will have a community Easter Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. April 4 at I.O.O.F. Park on the 45th Street side by the pond. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available. This will be a come as you are service so bring a blanket or lawn chair and join in as the resurrection of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is celebrated. If it rains, the service will be moved to Second Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 3045 W.
