Drowning claims two adults; child hospitalized
Two adults drowned and one child was flown to a Dallas hospital by air ambulance after a boat capsized in a stock tank Saturday off Northwest County Road 1146, a few miles outside of Emhouse.

Relay for Life set for annual fundraiser
The time is growing near, and for months, teams have been actively raising money with various fundraiser activities.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday, May 17 at The Cook Center at Navarro College, when all survivors of cancer and their caregivers will be honored with a dinner. -

Home grown, homemade goods and products will be returning May 18 when the Navarro County Farmer's Market begins its twice-weekly run in the shed on Business 75 next to the Daily Sun.

AirSho enjoys great weather, crowds
The 15th Corsicana AirSho came off successfully overall, beneath brilliant blue skies and moderate temperatures.
The show opened its gates at 9:30 a.m., and the public was allowed to walk around the planes, and even tour some of them, until 11:30 a.m. when they closed the flight decks to allow the planes to taxi out and take off. -

CISD bond fails; planning another try in November
Voters in the Corsicana Independent School District may be asked to vote on a revised school bond proposal in November, CISD Superintendent Dr. Diane Frost said Saturday, after district voters defeated a $54 million bond.
