    The Navarro County Retired Teachers Association will meet at 9:45 a.m. at Northwest Apartments Community Center, 1360 Northwest Ave. The speaker for the program will be Dr. Shellie O’Neal, teacher, actress and playwright. All former school employees are invited.

    Corsicana Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the Corsicana YMCA from 2 to 7 p.m. If you are low income (usually under $42K) or elderly, and in need of tax filing assistance, take advantage of this free program. This year VITA will see clients with appointments first and then work with walk-ins. VITA is at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at the Kerens Library on Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Call George Burrell at (903) 879-2091 to schedule your appointment.

    The American Legion, Post 22, will hold its monthly meeting which will include the annual election of Post officers at 1:30 p.m. at the post. All members and prospective members are invited to attend. All members interested in running for office should use the sign up sheet.

    United Way of Navarro County will host “Be Fashionable — Live United” at 6 p.m. at The Cook Center. Five local stores will feature their spring fashions, as well as 11 restaurants donating food and over 20 vendors with wares like Premier Jewelry, Mary Kay, Scentsy, Advocare and more. There will be gift baskets given away, door prizes, and entertainment. Seating is limited, so respond quickly if you wish to attend. Tickets are $20, call Marianne Mitchell at (903) 874-5253.
