Offense

Wortham senior running back Jakes Jones has been on the wrong end of the series with Mildred his entire high school football career. He put a stop to that, and quickly. Jones had more than 200 yards rushing in the first half of a 27-6 victory Friday. Jones didn’t get as many touches in the second half, but ended with 238 yards and three TDs.

Defense

Junior linebacker Martin Davis had 12 tackles, a tackle for a loss and an interception in Corsicana's 37-30 victory over Whitehouse. Davis has 40 total tackles for the season. He has three sacks, a tackle for a loss, a forced fumble and two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

He knows for certain he’s a Class 2A Academic All-State team member.

Lady Tigers soccer: CHS girls beat Jacksonville 2-1 The Corsicana Lady Tigers won at Jacksonville on Tuesday night, 2-1.

The first goal of the game was scored by Katy Driver and assisted by Aricelia Castaneda at the 25-minute mark.
