Corsicana’s PONY League baseball all-star teams get their tournament starts at sectional and regional events Monday, as do local Texas Teen-Age softball teams.
Mildred is hosting a Junior Girls (15-under) district tournament.
Here is a look at each level:
PONY All-Stars
• Pony 14 (14-under): The blue team coached by Rusty Hitt and the gold team coached by Monty Casbeer both travel to Kaufman;
• Pony 13 (13-under): One team, coached by Mike Russell and Frank Marx, is headed to Burleson;
• Bronco (12-under): The all-star team coached by Kyle Ward is also headed to Kaufman;
• Mustang 10 (10-under): The team coached by Pat Kennemore is playing in Rowlett;
• Mustang 9 (9-under): The tournament is in Crowley, and the Tigers are coached by Stan Farmer;
• Pinto (8-under): Playing coach pitch, the blue team coached by Heath Reynolds and the gold team coached by J.P. Johnson are headed to Irving;
• Shetland (T-ball): Both the blue coached by Jason Gomez and gold coached by Brent Hodge are off to Irving.
TTA Softball
• Junior (15-under): The Mildred Eagles coached by Shane Farmer and Mildred Crush coached by Stuart Springer will represent the Richland Chambers Creek Association at the tournament in Mildred;
• Freshman (12-under): The Mildred Eagles coached by Bob Pritchett and the Mildred Heat coached by Eugene Ward travel to Grandview for the district tournament;
• Midget (10-under): Troy Cox’s Blooming Grove Purple Crush and Tony McKendree’s Mildred Edge made the tournament in Malakoff;
• Coach Pitch (8-under): The Rice Bratz coached by Garry Teague and the Mildred Eagles coached by Shannon Wiggins are participating in the Italy tournament.

Rice’s White, 4 from Mildred make Academic All-State
Rice middle linebacker Keith White said he’ll know sometime soon whether or not he’ll be the school’s valedictorian for the 2010 senior class.
He knows for certain he’s a Class 2A Academic All-State team member. -
Golden Circle girls basketball: Stealing one
DAWSON — Wortham coach Anthony Branch has been waiting all season for a victory to turn around the Lady Bulldogs’ season.
They might have gotten it Tuesday night. - GC Basketball Roundup: Keele, Kerens drill Rice, 60-22 Anna Keele had eight points and 10 rebounds as Kerens rolled past Rice, 60-22, on Tuesday night in Kerens.
- Tigers Soccer: Corsicana, Midlothian play to 0-0 draw John Garcia had 12 saves, including three at point blank range as the Tigers tied at No. 4 Midlothian, 0-0.

Lady Tigers soccer: CHS girls beat Jacksonville 2-1
The Corsicana Lady Tigers won at Jacksonville on Tuesday night, 2-1.
The first goal of the game was scored by Katy Driver and assisted by Aricelia Castaneda at the 25-minute mark. -
Navarro hoops: Team game
Johnny Estelle substituted in one of his bench players Wednesday night with a simple message — “Go out there and play for Navarro.”
