Calling All Artists!

Mystery Art in Tuckertown to return

Corsicana — With the theme of “Mystery Art In Tuckertown, Pillars of our Past, Celebrating the People, places and events of Navarro County,” the Navarro Council of the Arts and VOICE, Inc. will again join forces to help kick off the 2013 Derrick Days Festivities

The 4th annual “Mystery Art In Tuckertown” is an event that will bring both awareness and creativity to Corsicana’s Annual Derrick Days festivities and will kick off all the festivities on Thursday, April 25.

The Navarro Council of the Arts and VOICE, Inc. developed this fun event as an art component to the annual Derrick Days festival. This event is open to all ages and all levels of artists who wanted to create an art piece that is their interpretation of Corsicana, Navarro County and our rich oil heritage.

All artwork must be of 8 x 10 size, of any media, and must not be signed. This interactive event will give attendees the chance to not only view the artwork, but to decide “who dun it?”

Artwork will be hung in the Warehouse Living Arts Center Gallery at 119 West 6th Avenue from April 23  until the event on April 25.

All art work is due by Thursday, April 18, to the Navarro Council of the Arts offices at 108 West 6th Avenue. All artwork will be offered for sale and auction at a reception and Mystery Art Sale on Thursday, April 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the children of Navarro County through arts and services of NCA and VOICE. The winning art work will be featured in the 2013 Derrick Days statewide marketing campaign.

For more information on this competition and a way for your artwork to be displayed, contact the Navarro Council of the Arts at (903) 872-5411, ncart@sbcglobal.net or visit the website at www.navarrocouncilofthearts.com.
