Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3366, located at Veterans Drive off West State Highway 31, will host Country Sue’s Karaoke. The VFW is open from 4 p.m. till midnight, Karaoke starts at 8 p.m. Call 903-872-38211 for more information or to reserve tables.



Aug. 25

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3366, located at Veterans Drive off West State Highway 31, invites everyone out for an evening of music by David Harness and friends, with country, rock and blues music. There is no cover charge. The music starts at 8 p.m. and continues until midnight. All are welcome. Call 903-872-3811 for more information.

The post will open at 2 p.m. For more information call after 2 p.m. (903) 874-3938.

 

Sept. 11

American Legion Post 22, 632 N. Beaton St., Corsicana, invites members and their guests for an evening of “Walker Creek Karaoke” with Loran from 8:30 to 12:30 a.m. Sons of the American Legion will have a spaghetti dinner with trimmings from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information call after 2 p.m. (903) 874-3938.

  • Skunk encounter proves costly

    The first time Reneé Brown saw the rabid skunk was in her backyard on Emhouse Road, where her 13 dogs were playing.
    She frantically called the dogs, and all responded by coming to her except Esu, her deaf dogo de Argentino, a big cross-breed dog, who ran at the skunk, grabbed it behind the neck and with one quick sling broke the skunk’s neck, killing it.

    The Warehouse Living Arts Center Theatre will present “The Last Romance” opening Thursday, Jan. 26.  The first show of the 2012 Season is a wonderful heart-warming comedy by Joe diPietro featuring WLAC favorites Ron Motley, Debbie Hanks, Norma Russell and Randy Jones.  Production dates are Jan. 26-29, 31, Feb. 2-4. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday Matinee on Jan. 29 begins at 2 p.m.  2012 Season Tickets or individual general admission tickets can still be purchased at the box office or on the WLAC website, www.warehouselivingartscenter.com.  The theatre is located at 119 W.
