Bethany Baptist Church, 1900 Mulberry Lane, where the Rev. Dwayne Moffett Jr. is pastor, will be celebrating a note burning service at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6. The guest speaker will be the Rev. R.L. Kennedy of Dallas. The public is invited to come and share in this joyous occasion with Bethany Baptist Church.
Bethlehem Baptist Church, 409 N. Third St., will have its fifth Sunday mission service at 11 a.m. Nov. 29. Speakers will be Sheretta Lewis and Aria Norris. The public is invited to come be a part of this service.

Corsicana Ministerial Alliance will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Wicklow Inn. Ministers in the area are encouraged to come and bring their spouses for a delicious dinner at $25 per couple. Make reservations by calling (903) 229-7476 by Dec. 2. Officers for 2010 will be announced. CMA held its annual community Thanksgiving service Nov. 25, and received a generous offering which will be used to help those in need.
Harmony Baptist District will have its fifth Sunday board service at 3 p.m. Nov. 29 at Second Mission Baptist Church, where the Rev. Larry Polk Sr. is pastor. The Rev. John Dixon will be the speaker. He has served as zone leader for the last seven years. His subject text will be “Why Jesus came to die” from Isaiah 53:5.
Dixon is a certified licensed minister. He attended Pasadena College in Los Angeles, Calif., with a certified Baptist doctorate degree. He has a standard leadership curriculum in the Christian education department of the Sunday school publishing board.
The thematic address speaker will be Sister Sharon Reese, who will be introduced by her husband Brother Reese. Dixon is the husband of Evangelist Mary Jo Dixon. Everyone is cordially invited to come to these services and hear this mighty man and woman of God.
Dixon will be speaking prior to the district board service at 11 a.m. Nov. 29 at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2105 E. Jones Ave.
Iglesias Sinai is now meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at The Word Church, 2708 W. Eighth Ave. A bilingual service is held with both churches at 10:30 a.m. Sundays.
Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1700 S. Business 45, will celebrate women’s day at 3 p.m. Nov. 29, sponsored by the women’s department of the church. The pastor is Elder Joseph Johnson Sr. and first lady is Missionary Charlene Johnson. The theme will be “Women of vision winning souls for Christ” from Proverbs 11:30. Guest churches will Open Door, Pastor David Thompson; and Haynes Memorial, Mexia, Pastor Charles Washington. Guest speaker will be First Lady Wilma Knight of Hopewell Baptist Church in Rice, where the Rev. Knight is pastor. Women are asked to wear white to the service. Everyone is invited.
Kelly’s Temple Church of God in Christ, where Elder Billy Joe Kelly is pastor and Sister Ruthie Nell Kelly is first lady, will have its fifth Sunday women’s day service at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 29 with fifth Sunday women’s coordinator Melissa Brown presiding. Come and be blessed to receive a comforting word from God by Sister Eddy Wilson. She is the wife of Minister Wilson.
Love Chapel Baptist Church, 400 N. Benton Street, where David E. Wilson serves as pastor and Sharron D. Wilson serves as minister will observe their Fifth Sunday Service on Nov. 29. Sunday School is at 9:45 a.m., and morning worship at 11 a.m. The women’s department will present the “Gifts from the Spirit” from Galatians 5:22-23. The theme for the occasion will be “Abide in the Vine” from John 15:1-11. Speakers will include Sisters Angel Brown, Sandra Stubblefield, Vickie Wilson, Erma Gray, Robbie Bailey, Teresa Wilson, Patricia Sanders, Oleta Faye Jones and Minister Bobbie Jackson. Sister Robbie Nell Carr will render a solo. Everyone is invited to worship.
Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast will meet at 6:45 a.m. Dec. 2 in the Lone Star Room of the Walker Dining Hall on the Navarro College campus. This meeting is open to all men in the community. The main emphasis is prayer for the community with interceding for leaders, schools, institutions, government and churches in the community. For more information, call (903) 874-5561.
New Cornerstone Missionary Baptist, 1808 W. 10th Ave., will be observing the Fifth Sunday Women Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29. Sister Vivian Jackson will serve as mistress of ceremonies. A devotional praise service will be lead by Sisters Trina Green, Denise McDonald and Paula Watson. The welcome will be extended by Sister Joann Green. Introducing the speaker will be Sister Edith Bates. The speaker will be New Cornerstone’s own Sister Lois Ballard, a member of the choir, trustee board and Sunday School superintendent. Rev. D.R. Watson, pastor, Rev. M.L. Green, assistant pastor, and Minister Corey Crawford, associate, look forward to all attending. The public is invivted.
Open Bible study and gospel singing is held every Thursday at the Senior Activity Center, 919 W. Park Ave., Corsicana. There is no cost to attend. Singing with Patrick and Nancy McCurrin on guitars and Virginia Terry on piano is held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Bible study is held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Peggy Smith as the teacher of this class.
