— Roger T. Womack was born in Meridian in Bosque County on June 3, 1934 to Grace Craig and Riley T. Womack.
He was a retired Marine Corps Captain and a veteran of Korea and Vietnam earning a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for valor in Korea.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from West Texas State University, was member of the National Genealogical Society, Phi Alpha Theta and First Families of America.
Military Graveside services will be held at the Richland Cemetery in Richland, Texas at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, with the Reverend Lyle Metzler officiating.
Survivors include, two aunts, Jo Knight and Mrs. Louise Nance of Waco; brothers, Kenneth Bullard of Sun City, Calif., and Lauren Bullard of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo; wife of 30 years, Patsy Womack of Richland; daughter, Erika Weaver and son Mark Womack, both of California; step daughters, Katherine Turner of Waco, and Margaret Bosma of Richland; grandchildren, Kelsey Weaver of California, Kenneth Merriman of Florida, Katherine Renee Turner and Michael Turner of Waco.
