Preston Patterson passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Florida at the age of 76.
He was born Nov. 2, 1936 in Wortham.
Preston retired from the Corsicana TxDOT after almost 40 years of service in the engineering department. He served as a member of the Corsicana Emergency Corps and the Corsicana Police Reserves. He coached both boys and girls Little League. He loved playing dominos with his grandson and several of his friends. He also loved his church home, Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Auther Patterson, Bernard Patterson and Sidney Patterson; and three sisters, Nell Burleson, Clareese Chambers and Mary Ridge.
Preston is survived by his wife of 56 years, Earlene Patterson; children, Pam Dolati of Carrolton, Steve Patterson and wife Jeanetta of New Harmony, and Sandra Epoulipiy and husband Cam of St. Cloud, Fla. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Holly Denbow and husband Steven, Roy Ortega, Brian Patterson, Elizabeth Dolati, Zachery Patterson and Sebastian Patterson; as well as great grandchildren, Landon Denbow, Lauren Denbow and Lance Denbow. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a brother, George Patterson and wife Mar Jo; and sister, Jeannie Trojacek and husband Otto.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana.
