Corsicana —
Mrs. Carolyn Irene Taylor, 61, of Corsicana passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1951, in Corsicana, to parents Hugh Byron Horton and Oma Wright Horton.
She was a very loving, caring wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved to make quilts, paint pictures, crochet, try new recipes, and most of all go to Seven Points to eat fried fish as often as possible. She also cherished spending time bonding with her best four-legged friend, Cricket.
Carolyn worked for many years at Liberty Mutual Life Insurance and then spent a long time at Navarro College helping students with financial aide applications. She was always busy and enjoyed her church life at the Church in the Park and at The Cowboy Church in Ennis.
She was preceded in death by her son, Andy James Taylor; sister-in-law, Aleta White; brother-in-law, Ronny White; brother, Calton Ray Horton; and nephews, Stan Horton and Randy Hunnicutt.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew “Jimmy” Jackson Taylor; sisters, Margie Parson and Lottie Klutts; brothers, Bill Horton Sr. and wife Gayle, and Phillip Horton and wife Kay. Carolyn is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her “special friend,” Cricket.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Graves, Raymond Pierce, Bill Horton Jr., Mike Klutts, Jessie Graham and Jimmy Price. Honorary pallbearer is Vernon Cobert
