Corsicana —
Jean Smart, age 84, of Waxahachie passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Sterling House of Waxahachie. She was born Dec. 5, 1927 in Silver Lake, Texas to Samuel and Lizzie Lane. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings and her husband, Rev. Elton Dennis Smart, Sr. on Dec. 3, 2010.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Shirey and husband Doug of Terrell and Denise McClure of Waxahachie; one son, Dennis Smart and wife Teresa of Midlothian; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Meryl Reynolds of Grapevine.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 101 North 14th St., Corsicana.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Ed Monk officiating.
