Corsicana —
Lindon Forest England, a member of the Greatest Generation, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village at the age of 88.
Lindon was born in Van Alstyne, Texas, the second child of John Winbourne and Bonnie Lillian England. Lindon grew up in Wichita Falls, graduating from Wichita Falls Senior High School and ultimately Midwestern State University after his service in World War II. Lindon was a proud Naval Aviator serving in both WWII and Korea, flying the N2S Stearman, BT13 Vultee Vibrator, Beech 18, SNJ3, PV 1-3, R4D 5 & 6, PBY6A and the P2V5A. Following WWII, Lindon worked for Phillips Petroleum as an exploratory land man until his retirement in 1985.
His beloved wife of 42 years Alena will welcome him into heaven.
Lindon is survived by his daughters Sharon Lynette Addison and her husband Ralph, Patricia Anne Summerall and her husband Dan and son John Kevin England. He is additionally survived by his granddaughters Jennifer Summerall Greenwood and husband Chris, and Sarah Summerall Schafer and husband Nathan and great-grandson Avery Charles Schafer. He is additionally survived by his sister Wannajean Brookby and her sons Harry and wife Judy, Bruce and wife Jean, and Robert (Bo) and wife Kathy.
Interment at the DFW National Cemetery will be conducted at a later date.
A special thank you from the family to Dr. Bob Kingman and the wonderful Angels at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village for the gentle care they gave.
