Billy Don Watkins

Corsicana —

Billy Don Watkins, 70, of Corsicana, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. He was born July 31, 1941 in Cryer Creek.

Billy Don set a wonderful example for his children and grandchildren of honesty, dependability and the value of hard work.  He began working at 12 years old at the Donut Shop and later worked as an electrician for Almos Thomas and Carl Wayne Morris.  He began his own business, Watkins Electric and Air Conditioning, in 1964 at age of 22.  He enjoyed being able to work alongside his family serving the needs of his community.  He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.  They will cherish memories of Sunday dinners, fishing at the Colorado River, hunting in Llano, and helping PawPaw out at the shop.

Billy Don was preceded in death by his grandparents Gus and Eliza Littlejohn, father Leonard Watkins, mother Juanita Bower, and step-father Rex Bower.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha Graham Watkins, son Terry Watkins and wife Ann, and son Lance Watkins and wife Damara, all of Corsicana.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Grayson Watkins and Graham Watkins and step-grandson Ian Cunningham all of Corsicana.  Billy Don is also survived by his sister Patsy Warren and husband Larry of Corsicana,  brothers Ray Bower and wife Debbie of Katy, Texas and Rex Bower, Jr. of Philidelphia, Penn., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
