Mary Alice Pena, 70, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at a local hospital.
Mary Alice was born on Feb. 24, 1942, in Fort Worth and graduated from Paschal High School in 1961. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, who will be sorely missed. She was passionately involved in her political duties as precinct chair for many years, and her enjoyment of quilting alongside her mother and church members. Her service and commitment to Habitat for Humanity, Hispanic Women's Network of Texas, Meals-on-Wheels, PTA and the Presbyterian Night Shelter helped complete the lives of others and her own.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Arturo; daughters, Elisabeth Garza, Astrid Atkinson (Tim); sons, Robert Paul (Raquel), John Eric (Celia); grandchildren, Nicole, Christina, Benjamin, Angelica, Noah, Ava, Sofia and Serena; brother, Robert (Elsa); sister, Rachel (Amado); and many cousins, nephews, nieces and her faithful companion, Lady J.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
