Mildred Kathryn Casey Hayes

Mildred Kathryn Casey Hayes, 91, passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at her residence in Fairfield, after a lengthy struggle with congestive heart failure.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1919, in Jacksonville, TX. She married Leslie E. Hayes Jr., and shared over fifty-seven years together before being separated by his death. She and “Potsy”, as she called him, raised seven wonderful children. Mrs. Hayes was not only a loving mother and homemaker, but also retired from Piggly-Wiggly Grocery Store as a top notch checker.

Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Edgar Hayes Jr.; parents, George and Vera Casey; granddaughter, Lisa Zane Beasley; infant great granddaughter, Jaylynn Lane; three sisters, Annie Phillips Smith, Lourene Nelson, and Virginia Jackson; and one brother, Larry Casey.

Those left to cherish her memory are five daughters, Marva Zane Beasley and husband Dr. Kenneth Beasley of Buffalo, Jeannie Lavern Delarios of Whitehouse, Connie Kathryn Fielden and husband Dub of Corsicana, Carolyn Wynett Golightly of Sanger, and Bronna Leah McClendon of Cedar Park; two sons, Jerry L. Hayes, DVM of Belton, and Lex E. Hayes and wife Patricia of Corsicana; twenty grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren;  sister, Juanita Muskgrove and husband Joe of Richardson; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be no formal visitation, however, those that wish may view the body and sign the registry book at the funeral home between 9 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, prior to the services.

Graveside services for will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. , Jan. 5, 2011, at Richland Cemetery in Richland.
