Gary Jack Youngblood

Gary Jack Youngblood, resident of Cedar Creek and formerly of Corsicana, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas at the age of 65.  

He was born in Dallas on March 25, 1947, to Jack and Sue Davis Youngblood. Gary married Sandra Farmer on Jan. 31, 1970, in Corsicana and they attended the First Baptist Church in Malakoff. He retired from the Corsicana Police Department in 1996 after 20 years of service. Gary was also a veteran of the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Sue Youngblood.  

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Sandra Youngblood; one son, Lance Youngblood; and one grandson, Jackson Youngblood; brother, David Youngblood and his wife Shelley and their son, Wade Youngblood. He is also survived by his aunts and uncle, Mary Butler and her husband Donal, Dee Craig, and Julie Moody; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Visitation with the family will be from 6 to  8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, in the Chapel at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Deacon Lewis Palos officiating.  Entombment will follow later in the afternoon with the family present at Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsicana.

Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, and honorary pallbearers will be Randy Blue, Keith Sykes, Thomas “Doc” Dockery, Jerry Davis, Kenneth Kirkwood and Jerry Putman.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Navarro Unit, 1000 West Second Ave., Corsicana, Texas 75110; or the Wise Foundation at www.wisefoundation.net for research in Vascular Care and Patient Treatment.
