Rickey Lee Pate

Rickey Lee Pate, 53, of Kerens passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 due to complications from rheumatoid arthritis.

Rickey was born May 21, 1959 in Corsicana to James E. and Marjorie Pate. He grew up in Kerens and attended Kerens High School. Rickey worked for over 25 years for Precinct 2 in Navarro County, most of those years as road and bridge supervisor. Rickey loved to hunt, fish and ride his Harley. He was also a pretty fair mechanic.

Rickey was preceded in death by his father, James E. Pate; grandparents, Jake and Maggie Pate, and uncle, Roy D. Miller Sr.

He is survived by his sons, Chris Pate and wife Beth of Granbury, Michael McCowan of Austin; daughter, Jennifer Pate of Kerens; mother, Marjorie Holton of Corsicana; sisters, Debra Stroder and Matt of Emmett, Cheree Wright and Tom Bill of Eureka; grandmother, Polly Miller of Corsicana and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Certainly the two most important survivors were the delight of his life, grandsons Caden Pate of Granbury and Calel Lowe of Kerens.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at Pairie Point Cemetery with Johnny Singleton officiating.

    She was a loving wife, mother, and “Nana” who gave endlessly to her family and cherished her friends.

    She was born June 2, 1927, in Blooming Grove.
    She worked as a bookkeeper for 35 years at Watson Truck & Supply in Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
