Graveside services for Erie Agnes Smith Grant, 88, of Corsicana will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Parker Cemetery, with Rev. Gene Gipson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Erie Agnes Smith Grant was born May 8, 1924 in Grapeland to Clem and Pearl Masters Smith. She went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband on Thursday, March 7, 2013. She married Willie Earl Grant in 1940, and was married almost 72 years before his passing last June. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and mother-in-law. She was a homemaker and loved to sew, quilt, garden and grow flowers. She even went hunting with her husband and family.
Mrs. Grant was a member of Barry Baptist Church where she served with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Horald Smith, sisters Lee Different, Maurine Riddle, Sybil Moran, and Ruth Stepherson; a daughter, Lynda Jo Grant; and a granddaughter, Amanda Jo Grant.
Mrs. Grant is survived by sons Bobby and wife Ronda Grant of Chatfield, Tommy and wife Martha Grant of Barry, and Jimmy Grant of Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason and wife April Grant, Chad and wife Heather Grant of Chatfield, Kim and husband James Ippolito of McKinney, Charles Grant of Barry and Sam Grant. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, along with several nieces and nephews and their families.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons and grandson-in-law.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Heritage Oaks West and Lighthouse Hospice.
Condolence calls will be received from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Bailey & Foster Chapel Grapeland.
