Corsicana —
Mr. Wallace Langston, 88, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 at his residence.
He was a member of the Chatfield Baptist Church where he served as Senior Deacon and advisor; married to the late Tressie Lacy Langston; he was educated in the Chatfield School system, was a veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged in the United States Army; and maintained his livelihood at Wolf Brand Chili as Lead-man and Cresline Pipe Company.
He and his wife had a life-long passion for nurturing hundreds of Navarro County Youth.
Wallace Langston was preceded in death by his parents, Amzie and Essie Langston; sisters Johnnie Mae Jackson, Effie B. Madison and Willie Estelle Langston; two brothers, E.C. Langston and W.C. Langston; and his beloved wife Tressie.
He is survived by his brother, Julious Langston and wife Francis of Dallas; God-daughter Cheryl Robinson and husband Jodie of Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many friends and extended family who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at Scott Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church with Bishop K.D. Davis Sr. and Pastor Robert Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Chatfield Cemetery, Chatfield.
Pallbearers will be Robert Madison, Samuel Madison, John W. Miller, Mike Jackson, Frederick Jackson, and W.C. Langston Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Donald R. Langston, James Langston, Willie Jackson Sr., E.C. Langston Sr., Herman Langston, Langston Madison, David Madison and the Deacon Board of Chatfield Baptist Church.
