Edith J. Nickleberry, 77, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.
Edith was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Port Arthur, where she graduated from high school. Upon graduating, she went on to attend Texas Southern University. She married Olin Nickleberry in August of 1959 and to this union, two children were born, Brenda and Oretha.
Edith was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Corsicana.
She was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, sister, and friend to those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Comet Iles Sr. and Brenda Foley Iles; her husband, Olin Nickleberry, and daughter, Brenda Gardner.
She leaves to cherish her memory one child, Oretha V. Nickleberry; two grandchildren, DeShawn A. Gardner II and Brende A. Gardner; two siblings, Comet Iles and Ralph Iles, and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at M.R. Smith Parlor for Funerals, 1236 N. Business 45 Corsicana, TX.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 409 N. 3rd St., Corsicana with Rev. Ricky Walter officiating, and Rev. Dairy Johnson as eulogist.
Interment will take place at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas.
