Mrs. Dorothy Faye Almand Thompson, age 75, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas. She was born April 23, 1937 to Mattie and William Almand in Ben Wheeler. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Thompson; grandson, Jason Doerr; sisters Audrey Vernon, Barbara Fomby, and JoAnn Coker; and brother, Billy Almond.

She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Winkler and husband Jeff, Belinda Speer and husband Dwayne, and Jay Doerr; grandchildren, Russ Kincaid and wife Tina, Will Winkler, Jeremy Almand and wife Lindsay, Brandi Wallen and husband Josh, and DeAnn Stebbins and husband Eddie; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Cheyenne, Jacob, Aaron, Isaac, Madilyn, John, Abigail, Austie and husband Kevin, Edward, Trevor, Jason, Kaylee, Gunner, and Zaine; brother, Bert Almand; and sisters, Jean Wright, Betty Bales and Bertie Almand.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Point Cemetery in Bazette. Pallbearers will be Russ Kincaid, Will Winkler, Jeff Winkler, Dwayne Speer, Jeremy Almand and Edward Stebbins.

She was a loving wife, mother, and “Nana” who gave endlessly to her family and cherished her friends.
