Ruby Mae Hubbard, resident of Houston, formerly of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at the age of 73 at the Cornerstone Hospital of Houston, Bellaire.
She was born in Frost on Aug. 18, 1938, to Ruben Hubbard and Senolia Bailey Hubbard. She received her formal education in the Frost School District and acknowledged Jesus Christ as her Savior.
After leaving Frost, Ruby moved to Dallas and lived there many years. Upon her becoming ill she moved to Houston with her daughter.
Ruby was truly loved and will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and three nephews, Gary Mason, and Joe D. Hubbard Jr. and Anthony Hubbard.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Hubbard of Houston, and son, Christopher Hubbard of Dallas; two grandchildren, Danesha M. Hubbard and Douglas M. Hubbard, both of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Daelon M. Johnson, Jacori M. Abrams and Camille J. Hubbard, all of Houston; one sister, Rosie L. Dickens of Stockton, Calif.; one brother, the Rev. Joe D. Hubbard Sr. and his wife Florine Hubbard of Corsicana; nephews, Harold Mason of Corsicana, Larry Hubbard of Minnesota, and Billy Hubbard and his wife Sheree of Corsicana; nieces, Joyce Hubbard of Hooks, Sharron D. Wilson and her husband David E., Debra A. Shockley and her husband David B., all of Corsicana; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, in the chapel at Ross and Johnson Mortuary.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at the Ross and Johnson Mortuary Chapel with Pastor David E. Wilson, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.
