George E. Steward

Corsicana —



George E. Steward (Uncle George/Moody), 76, passed from this life on  Monday, July 30, 2012 in DeRidder, La. George was a native of Corsicana and a lifetime resident of DeRidder, La.

He retired from Boise Cascade after over 30 years of service. He was a member of numerous  community and civic organizations, and a member of the Starlight Missionary Baptist Church-Rev. Daniel Stafford pastor.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann J. Steward, father, George D. Steward, brother, Willie Howard Steward, and son, Willie George Steward.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Della Steward of Corsicana; daughter, Tempest Acker of Marietta, Ga.: sister, Christine Crawford of Corsicana; grandchildren, Machema McGregor of Dallas, Willie George Steward II of Atlanta, Ga., Tatyana and Taliya Acker of Marietta, Ga.; great grandchildren, and a host of favorite  nieces, nephews, family, special friends, in-laws and god children.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 and from 10 a.m. until time of service at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in DeRidder, La.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Daniel Stafford will officiate. Burial will follow at Starlight Cemetery in DeRidder, La.

    She worked as a bookkeeper for 35 years at Watson Truck & Supply in Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
