Alva Wayne Marrs, 75 of Corsicana, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:13 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 in Dallas. He was born Dec. 17, 1936 in Corsicana to Cuie and Nola Freeze Marrs. He was a blessing to all who knew him. Always had a smile on his face and a kind work to say. He was a Korean War Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Nola and Cuie Marrs.
He is survived by his wife Paula Marrs, son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Cindy Marrs, daughter and son-in- law Lisa and Eric Pabon, and daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Jerry Keen. He is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Holt, Matthew Alliss, Josiah Alliss, Krystal Boone, Austin Dublin, Heather Pickett, Ashley Pickett and Amber Pickett; and great-grandchildren Brooke and Faith Madill, and Rylan Dublin. He also leaves behind four sisters, Lavane Ogden, Theda Kay Marrs, Geraldine Watson, Jodelle Marrs, and his brother and sister-in-law Dutch and Loudine Marrs, as well as numerous other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at House of Praise with Rev. Tommy Schane officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Keen, Eric Pabon, John Richards, Austin Dublin.

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Holladay, 85, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday evening, May 21, 2013, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana with her family by her side.
She was born June 2, 1927, in Blooming Grove.
She worked as a bookkeeper for 35 years at Watson Truck & Supply in Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. -
