Namon Earl Yates, 86, of Frost passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 in Corsicana. He was born June 19, 1925 in Cryer Creek to Davy and Gladys Yates. Namon was a member of Frost United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Alan Yates and two brothers Duane Yates and Bobby Joe Yates.
He is survived by his wife Jerolyn Yates of Frost, daughter Beverly Vest of Hewitt; granddaughter, Lee Vest of Hewitt; daughter-in-law Gretchen Yates of Arlington; sister-in-law, Syble Yates of Waxahachie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Eileen Way of Bossier City, La. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at Frost United Methodist Church with Rev. Leah Hidde-Gregory and Rev. Nancy Schusler officiating. Burial will follow at Frost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Hargrove, Dale Cosby, Chuck Way, Robert Stone, Jeremy Stone and Justin Stone.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kent Rogers and the nurses and staff of Navarro Regional Hospital for their care during Namon's illness.

He was born in Streetman to Calvert Vell and Pauline Coleman Carroll on March 24, 1936. He was a rancher in the Streetman area and attended the First Baptist Church in Streetman. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served on the Birdston Cemetery Association Board.
