Billie Davis Lewis Jenkins

Mrs. Billie Davis Lewis Jenkins passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Navarro Regional Hospital.  

She was born April 14, 1923 in DeArmon, Texas, to Thomas and Mamie Davis.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Corsicana. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had served the local chapter as Worthy Matron. Prior to retirement she was employed in general retail at Sears for 26 years then followed by Dyer’s Department Store, College Park Mall and Brookshires Grocery Store. She enjoyed working and visiting with the public.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed picking berries and fruits and canning them. She shared with all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wm. Felton Lewis; her parents; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Louanne Richard.

She is survived by her husband, J.W. Jenkins; a daughter, Helen Ingram and husband Preston; a son, Felton Eugene Lewis and wife Cheryl;  five grandchildren, Gary Ingram, Paula Dye, Barry Richard, Lisa Burns and Sherry Mojica; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; two step-sons, Wally Jenkins and Curtis Jenkins; and four step daughters, Doris Yates, Karen Williams, Martha Norman and Nelda Scott.

Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Corley Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Point Cemetery.

Great-grandsons will be pallbearers.
