Dr. Howard Martin Katz III, age 67, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at Medical City Dallas.
Howard was born Jan. 5, 1946 in Chatanooga, Tenn. to Howard M. Katz, Jr. and Sarah Holmes Katz. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and received his Medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine.
Howard loved driving around listening to rock music playing loudly on his car radio. He was an avid gun collector and loved to read all types of books, and was a real history buff. He loved spending time with his four-legged pals; Bella, Miss Kittie, and Bart.
Dr. Katz was preceded in death by his parents.
Howard is survived by his wife, Wendy; his daughter Salli Katz of Chatanooga, Tenn.; son, Howard M. Katz, IV and wife, Jennifer of Fort Drum, N.Y.; step-daughters, Tara Humphrey and husband, Tyrone, of Blooming Grove and Mandy Humphrey of Corsicana. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Devon and Kenadi Hood of Blooming Grove, Madison Katz and Cayli Trent of Fort Drum, N.Y.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 following the visitation at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana with Mr. David Van Zandt officiating. Burial will follow on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Rabbittown Baptist Cemetery in Annison, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Navarro County, P.O. Box 1734, Corsicana, Texas 75151-1734.

She worked as a bookkeeper for 35 years at Watson Truck & Supply in Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. -
