Daisy Scruggs "Granny" of Purdon, born June 28, 1921 went to be with the Lord on Feb. 4, 2012 at the age of 90. She resided at Heritage Oaks West in Corsicana and was loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey P. Scruggs, brothers and sisters Bill Gorden, Sis Dawson and Maxine Gorden.
She is survived by her son Jerry Don Scruggs and his wife Donna of Pursley, two grandchildren Christopher Scruggs and wife Kiki of Dallas and Jeremy P. Scruggs of Corsicana, and two beautiful great-grandchildren, Lynzee and Bailey Scruggs of Corsicana. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Raydean Gorden, Elton Gorden and Raymond Gorden.
Daisy touched the lives of so many people in her life that it would fill up the entire newspaper.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at Griffin-Roughton chapel with Rev. Larry Talbert, Rev. Grady Cashion and Rev. James Berryhill officating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ricky Thomas, Joe Bill Irwin, David Croom, Robert Berryhill, Jared Ray, Jeremy Scruggs.
