Billy Joe Mullins Sr.

Mr. Billy Joe Mullins Sr., 86, of Lewisville passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Flower Mound.

He was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Quinlan to parents Willie Edward and Carrie Odell Mullins.

He was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Later he was employed with Shaw Equipment Company in Dallas where he lived for many years before moving to Corsicana, where he enjoyed working on his farm. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dallas, and just recently received his 60 year pin with the Shriner’s.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Melvia Mullins; parents; and sisters, Maybell Cass and Mildred Nall.

He is survived by his son, Billy Joe Mullins Jr. and wife Sandie of Plano; daughter, Genay Davis of Lewisville; granddaughters, Kristina Selakovich and husband Patrick of Plano, Lori Williams and husband Trevor of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Leslie Bottoms and husband Matt of Coppell; grandson, Blake Mullins and wife Jamie of Mandeville, La.; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Margie Evans Berryman, Geneva Browning and husband Tom of Greenville, and Shirley Matthews of Irving; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery with Pastor Trevor Williams officiating. Interment with military honors will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Navarro unit, 1000 W. 2nd Avenue, Corsicana, Texas 75110.
