Mildred “Millie” Viola Hickson Tramel was born on July 8, 1926, to Delbert “Bud” and Hattie Bell “Peggy” Hickson and passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Millie was raised in Navarro County and graduated from Powell High School in 1944. She married Clifton Norman Tramel Sr. in 1946. Millie was a homemaker and later worked for J.M. Dyer Department store for 25 years. Millie is well remembered for her love of people, quick wit, and ability to make people feel loved. She had an incredible memory and never knew a stranger. Everyone knew Millie and Millie knew everyone.
Millie was an active member of Northside Baptist Church where she served in various capacities including WMU, HeavenBound Choir, Care Center food and clothing distribution, Homebound Ministry, prayer chains and various other ministries.
Millie is survived by daughter, Linda Quick and her husband Mark of Dallas; daughter, Pam O’Hanlon of Corsicana; son, Clif Tramel of Weatherford; beloved granddaughter, Erin Carlyle and husband Jeff of Houston; two great-grandchildren, Callie and Jackson; one brother, Larry Hickson of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating.
Pallbearers will be Tom Shimek, Jim Henry, Wes Allen, John Myers, Bill Owen, Leeman Pape, Jeff Carlyle and Mark Quick. Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey Hickson, James Owen, Marvin Ray, Gary Welch, Mike Green and Darwin Myers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Program of Northside Baptist Church, 2800 N. Beaton St., Corsicana, TX 75110.
