Chris ‘Bucky’ Ridgway


Chris “Bucky” Ridgway, 43, of Waxahachie, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. He was born on March 28, 1966, in Waxahachie.

Chris enjoyed drag racing, hunting, four-wheel drive trucks and fast cars. He also enjoyed fishing and, at one time, held the Black Bass record at Lake Waxahachie.

Chris was a hard worker and loved working with animals, especially roosters. He never met a stranger and befriended so many. He made friends everywhere he went and loved people. Chris loved his family and was a loving father, brother and son and was a fun loving uncle. He will be missed by so many close friends and family that loved him very much.

He is survived by his son, Lance Ridgway and his fiancée Sara of Waco; his father and stepmother, Billy Joe and Naomi Ridgway of Barry; two sisters, Kathy Been and her husband Alan of Earth and Mary Ridgway of Waxahachie; two brothers, Clint Ridgway and his wife Karen of Waxahachie and Matt Ridgway and his wife Toni of Waxahachie; and numerous nieces, nephews and aunts, and lots of friends.

Services to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, at the Ellis County Cowboy Church with Brother Gary Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at the Maypearl Cemetery.
