Macel Hiler Nicholson
Macel Hiler Nicholson, 81, of Barry passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.
She was born Feb. 24, 1928, to George and Georgie (Holcomb) Hiler. She married Clyde Nicholson on June 11, 1945.
She was a homemaker and faithful member of Blooming Grove United Methodist Church, and served as a volunteer for 17 years at Navarro Regional Hospital as a pink lady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Nicholson; son, John Nicholson; sisters, Inez King Hemingway, Fern Woodland, Mattie Ruth Niver, Sadie Hill, and Maxine Armstrong; and brothers, Hubert Hiler and Ronnie Hiler.
Macel is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Hugh and Elaine Nicholson of Barry, Steve and Deniese Nicholson of Barry, and Lana Nicholson of Corsicana; sisters, Dot Russell of Blooming Grove and Barbara Garrison of Kerens; brother, Doug Hiler of Blooming Grove; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Blooming Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Grady Cashion and the Rev. Sandralyn Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Blooming Grove.
Pallbearers will be Scott Armstrong, Tommy Estes, Jerry Wayne Garrison, Michael Hiler, Jimmy Hiler, and Brent Hiler.
