Project Graduation 2009 will take place at the Corsicana YMCA. All Corsicana High School senior graduates are encouraged to attend. Doors will be open from 11 p.m. to midnight. No entry will be after that hour. The event will continue until 5 a.m. June 6. Fun activities, great prizes, enjoyable food and fond memories are planned to fill the entire event. Navarro County Republican Party will meet at 7 p.m. on the seventh floor of the Bank of America building, 100 N. Main St. U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Natosha Monroe, who was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for one year in 2005, will be the featured speaker. She was in charge of a mental health services office there for the American troops who were guarding the detainees. Her duties were to provide psychiatric counseling, assess troop morale, offer anger management workshops, and report to the highest-ranking Navy captains and Army generals on the status of every person at Guantanamo. A native of Blooming Grove, Monroe has received several awards of appreciation for her work with the troops. All registered voters are welcome to attend.

The presentation will be given by Aaron Holt, who has worked for the National Archives for approximately 18 years. VOICE staff is certified to facilitate this program. The class will be an eight-hour program divided into four two-hour sessions. This session will be June 23, 25 and 30 and July 2. Two separate sessions will be offered on these dates. One will be offered from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the other from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants are required to attend all sessions.
