Crush beat Eagles in Junior action, 3-1, while others roll
In Mildred, the battle between the two host teams went to the Crush, 3-1, in the Texas Teen-Age Softball district tournament. It was the first win over the Eagles for the Crush, who advance to tonight's championship game at 6, and more importantly, have already clinched a spot at the state tournament.
The Eagles face the Athens Crankit at 10 a.m. today for the right to get to tonight's title game. Both teams in the championship game advance to state the week of July 20 in Early.
In other TTAS action Tuesday in Grandview, Mildred's Freshman (12-under) Eagles cruised in their district tournament, beating Italy 16-0 and Hillsboro, 16-1. They play again tonight at 8 p.m.
In Italy, the Rice Bratz joined the Mildred Eagles in the winner's bracket. Rice beat Ferris, 14-11, and faces Milford today at 8 p.m.
