Wortham stays close but loses at Buffalo, 27-18
The Difference: Buffalo's defense played excellent Friday night holding the powerful Wortham rushing attack to only 165 total yards.
Standouts: Buffalo's Dominguez Brothers, Auerlio and Jose combined for 178 rushing yards and three touchdowns. For Wortham, Jake Jones had 17 carried for 79 yards and two touchdowns run as well as a 65 yard touchdown pass to Cameron Price.
Game Notes: Buffalo picks up its second win of the season on their homecoming in a hard hitting ground game. Wortham started the game with an onside kick recovered by Manton Capers. From there, the Bulldogs marched for a 10 play drive to score the first touchdown of the game. The Bulldogs completed their first pass of the season with Jones touchdown pass to Price. For Buffalo, QB Jordan Canady, who did not play in last years victory at Wortham due to an injury, had 64 yards on 10 carries and one touchdown. Wortham's 2-2 start is their best record in the first four games of a season since 2004 as they into a bye week before district play begins.
